Our Mission
Our Caring Hearts was founded in September 2015 after Gail Labik, one of the organizations founding members, became a breast cancer survivor.
"In March of 2014, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. The lump was found during my routine mammogram. My doctor didn’t waste any time scheduling me for surgery and radiation treatment. During my recovery, I received so many thoughtful gifts and so much support and encouragement from so many people. One of the gifts I received was a comfort basket from my friend Carrie, and her organization, the Mrs. Claus Club. The Mrs. Claus Club is an organization that I have known about for several years, but last year I found out firsthand what it’s like to be on the receiving end of one of a comfort baskets. I knew right away that I wanted to pay it forward. I mentioned what I wanted to do to some of my friends and family and they immediately jumped on board and wanted to help. And that is how Our Caring Hearts was started."
Our Caring Hearts is a group of women that give support, comfort and hope with comfort baskets to women going through cancer treatment and recovery. Each one of our founding members have all had their lives touched by cancer. Either through a family member, close friend or are a survivor themselves.
As a non-profit organization, all donations are used to create a custom comfort basket that is distributed by referral to women who are going through cancer treatment or recovery.
